Farm Coordinator
Valentines Farm (VF) is a 4-acre biodynamic market garden and homestead on Long Island. We grow a wide variety of vegetables, herbs, flowers, and berries. Our vegetable fields occupy half an acre and are managed on a low till, permanent bed system. We produce jams, apothecary items, honey and free-range eggs.
We are seeking a highly organized and resourceful Farm Coordinator (FC) to join our team. The FC will work with the Farm Manager to co-lead and ensure smooth farm operations covering administrative duties and work in the fields.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Farm Coordinator will be in charge of our farmers market stand, where she/he will represent the VF brand with integrity, creating a warm and professional rapport with customers. At the market, the FC will assist in proper set-up, breakdown, and re-stocking of the stand, ensuring produce quality and an attractive display are maintained at all times. The Farm Coordinator will operate the Square POS system and cash register, taking different forms of payment as well as completing online shop orders.
The FC’s administrative duties will include invoice management, detailed recordkeeping, inventory upkeep, budgeting, developing sales reports, as well as assisting with drafting newsletters, blog posts, and social media content for the farm. The FC will proactively troubleshoot and help solve minor grounds and building issues, receive and assist vendors, coordinate produce deliveries and donations, as well as source and purchase supplies and equipment. Duties will also include opening and closing farm facilities, managing Farm Crew, and performing fieldwork as needed.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Dropbox and Square
Experience with tracking financials and budgeting
Familiarity with market-farming and sustainable agriculture
Understanding of organic, CNG, and/or FMNP regulations, desired
Handy, a plus
This position is full-time with benefits, hourly pay depending on experience. Must be able to lift 50 lbs., work in all weather, have a current Driver’s License, and be able to work 5 days a week with flexibility to work weekends and assist with farmer’s markets on Saturdays. Uniform provided.
